Trip Details

After our arrival in Haiti the team will be transported to the Villa Orison located in the Carrefour neighborhood of Port Au Prince. The team will stay one night getting supplies organized and being oriented to Haitian culture, including a guided tour of the Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien (also known as the Haitian History Museum).

The team will then transfer by a 6 hour coach ride to Les Ceyes, Haiti and then ride in open air trucks to Port Salut, Haiti, which will be the team's home for the remainder of the trip. The team will stay in safe, comfortable beachfront, dorm style housing. There will be running water (no hot water), power run by generators, and all bedding is provided.

Continental style breakfast and traditional Haitian dinners will be prepared daily by the loving hands of our team chef onsite at our housing. Sack lunches will be prepared daily by team members.

The team will travel daily to remote communities in Haiti’s “Southern Claw” providing mobile clinics and education, returning each evening to the dorms.

Previous teams have had opportunities to attend Haitian cultural events, such as Voodoo Ceremonies, cliff-diving, waterfall trips, shop in markets, attend bullfights, and explore caves.

There will be an optional 4 day/3 night extension trip offered to team members to a resort on the island of Isle La Vache after the trip is finished. More details on this opportunity will be available soon.


Amount of in Country travel:  The team will transfer to the Port Salut region via a four to six hour bus trip. Once in Port Salut, the team will travel out and back daily to remote clinic sites in open air pickup trucks over unimproved roads.  

Sleeping arrangements: Team members will stay in dorms, secure and comfortable. Team members will share a room, up to five team members per room.

Running water/electricity:  Running water and electricity is available at the housing area, although water is not heated and electricity can be inconsistent. Clinic locations will not have water and/or electricity.  

Physical Requirements:  The physical activity level for this team is rated at Moderate. Team members should be able to tolerate hot and humid weather. (temperatures average between 90 & 95 degrees F). Air conditioning will not be available to them. Team members may be asked to assist in lifting heavy luggage.

Climate/Altitude: Most of the team members will be exposed to warm weather in the mid 80'.
